MOUNT VERNON — Wyatt Kissell, of Mount Vernon FFA, placed second in the parliamentary procedure and job interview contest on Nov. 16 at  Fredericktown.

Kissell advanced to District competition on Monday Nov. 19.

Parliamentary procedure is the formal way to run a meeting. Attending this competition is a great way for members to practice being active and involved members of an organization. These skills will be carried in their adult world. All three teams received Bronze ratings.

Three of the members in the chapter participated in the Job interview competition. Contestants had to submit a cover letter, resume, job application and follow up letter as well as sit through an interview with a potential employer.

In addition, the Mount Vernon FFA chapter had four of their officers attend a leadership night at Amanda Clearcreek high school. Five of Ohio State’s officers talked about how to go above a beyond what you have to for your school, chapter, and for your family.

The officer’s quote of the night was “The limit of the possible are defined by going beyond them into the impossible.” – Arthur C. Clarke. The skills learned will be brought back to improve the local chapter, school and community.
