Crash Reports

Oct. 25

  • Kimberly L. Meier was stopped in traffic on Public Square southwest. D. Ann Cochran was southbound on Public Square when Meier pulled from the line of traffic and struck her vehicle. Meier was cited for changing lanes without safety.
  • Lindsay Boyles was stopped at a stop sign facing east on Yauger Rd. at Upper Gilchrist Rd. Brandon A. Jankowsky was traveling south on Upper Gilchrist Rd. Boyles proceeded through the intersection after stopping and was struck by Jankowsky who failed to stop at the stop sign. Jankowsky was cited for running a stop sign.

Oct. 26

  • Katelyn Lawhorn was traveling north on Martinsburg Rd. and Chad Daniels was traveling north in front of Lawhorn. Lawhorn rear-ended Daniels. Lawhorn was cited for failure to maintain assured distance ahead.
  • Jacob Ross was traveling south on Sychar Rd. and turned east onto Beech St. when he lost control of the vehicle. This caused him to run into a fire hydrant on the south side of Beech St.
  • Lawrence L. Thomas was traveling north on S. Main St. near Columbus Rd. Debra J. Corrigan was traveling south on S. Main St. near Columbus Rd. Thomas failed to yield the right of way when turning left onto private property and collided with Corrigan. Thomas was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way when turning left.

Oct. 27

  • Betty S. May was traveling north on Newark Rd. when Marty W. Groseclose failed to yield when turning onto Martinsburg Rd. causing a head-on crash. May stated she never saw Groseclose coming. Statements were taken from both parties. May was cited for failure to yield at a yield sign.

Incident Reports

Oct. 26

  • The MVPD was advised of damage to two buildings at the Arbors of Mount Vernon.
  • An officer spoke with the victim in regard to someone using his credit card without authorization to purchase items. A report was taken and the investigation is underway. This report will be updated as the investigation proceeds.

Oct. 27

  • An officer responded to the MVPD in response to a Domestic Violence complaint. The complainant reported the incident occurred on Follin Ave. the day before. The female victim had several, bruises and cuts inflicted by the male subject. Charges of domestic violence have been filed and a warrant issued.

  • Michael Doyon, 25, N. Mulberry St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Kyle Walker, 23, Marion, OH, was cited for no operator’s license and for exhaust system required.
  • Josh Fowler, 41, Meltzer Ct. was cited for squealing tires and exhaust noise.

  • David Oiler, 50, Canal, OH, was cited for speeding.
  • Kimberly Meier, 36, Sychar Rd. was cited for changing lanes without safety.
  • Brandon Jankowski. 18, Galion, was cited for running a stop sign.
  • Samuel Bush, 21, Columbus Rd. was cited for running a red light.
  • Cameron Beckett, 19, Howard, was cited for expired or unlawful license plates and for fictitious plates.
  • Heatherlyn Thomas, 44, Hilltop Dr. was cited for expired or unlawful plates.

Oct. 26

  • Abraham Desich, 35, Centerburg, was cited for speeding.
  • Josiah Burney, 24, Mallard Pt. Was cited for speeding.
  • Katelyn Lawhorn, 17, Walnut St. was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
  • Scott Schaade, 22, E. Burgess St. was cited for DUS.
  • Jeremiah Carter, 39, Ash St. was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia and possessing drug abuse instruments.
  • Thomas Lawrence, 67, Pleasant Valley Rd. was cited for failure to yield when turning left.
  • Kylee Miracle, 20, Northview Dr. was cited for fictitious plates.

Oct. 27

  • Frederick Murphy, 28, Johnstown Rd. was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia offenses, possession of drugs, having weapons while under disability, and improper handling of a firearm.
  • Justin Sanford, 42, Sunbury, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and changing lanes without safety.
  • Jared Hathaway, 24, Fredericktown, was cited for speeding.
  • Kyle Bell, 34, Gambier Rd. was cited for speeding.
  • David McCoy, Miller St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension, and for expired or unlawful plates.
  • Marty Groseclose, Howard, was cited for operator/chauffeur license required.
  • Betty May, 59, Mount Gilead, was cited for running a stop sign.

Oct. 28

  • Dylan Colopy, 19, S. Main St. was cited for squealing tires and exhaust noise. He was also charged with underage possession/consumption of alcohol.
  • Zachary Wagnor, 28, Northview Dr.; was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Michael Cosner, 28, Howard, was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and no license plate light.
  • Cole Alexander, 16, Belvedere Dr. was cited for squealing tires and exhaust noise.
