Incident Reports

Mar. 23

  • The MVPD received paperwork from the Property Maintenance Enforcement Officer of the City of Mount Vernon and was asked to remove a vehicle that had been abandoned in the backyard of property on W. Sugar St. The officer went to the location and confirmed the vehicle was still there. The vehicle was towed to the Mount Vernon Police Impound lot.
  • At approximately 7:30 a.m. an officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. address in reference to the theft of a motor vehicle. The officer spoke with the victim who indicated her vehicle was missing when she went to leave work. The vehicle is a black 2009 Chevrolet and is missing the right front fender, there is no front plate and the rear bumper is being held up with duct tape. The victim indicate the keys were in the vehicle and it was unlocked. There are no suspects at this time The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen.

Mar. 24

  • At approximately 12:42 P.M. An officer responded to Marita Dr. in reference to a theft from a vehicle complaint. A written statement and photographs were taken. An item of evidence was also recovered. The suspect is unknown at this time.
  • The complainant came to the MVPD to report he was being harassed on Facebook. Nothing further to report and any new information will be supplemented.

Mar. 25

  • At approximately 11:15 A.M. an officer responded to a S. Mulberry St. address in reference to vandalism The investigation continues.
  • At 3:10 P.M. An officer responded to a N. Sandusky St. address on a theft from vehicle complaint The suspect is unknown at this time. The investigation has been closed at this time and will be reopened if a suspect is identified or any new leads are developed.
  • Officers responded to an E. Ohio St. residence in reference to a possible drug overdose. Mount Vernon medics transported a female to Knox Community Hospital for an evaluation. An officer checked the female’s purse before she was transported and located a glass marijuana bowl, two pill crushers and three cut straws inside. While on scene an officer spoke with the female’s friend who stated she was with the female all day and did not see her use any illicit drugs. The friend indicated the female was a passenger in her vehicle. She appeared to be fine one minute and the next she was lethargic and slurring her speech. The drug paraphernalia was secured into evidence.
  • The complainant reported that someone removed the rear license plate from her vehicle. The complainant did not have any idea when the theft happened and just noticed it missing on 3/25/28. The plate was entered into LEADS as stolen.
  • At approximately 5:53 P.M. An officer was dispatched to a Sycamore St. address on a report of vandalism. When the officer arrived he spoke with the owner who advised someone had damaged her vehicle. She stated she wanted to report it and requested extra patrol in the area.
  • The complainant reported her estranged boyfriend had taken her car without her permission. The complainant resides on Follin Ave. The investigation continues.
  • At approximately 1:00 A.M. Jason Stevens was arrested without incident on an active warrant for probation violation. Stevens was transported to the Knox County Jail.

  • Shawn Garrad, 28, Martinsburg Rd. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Randy Spurling, 23, Wooster Rd. was arrested and charged with one count of drug abuse and one count of drug paraphernalia offenses.
  • Erick Erhard, 32, Lovers Lane,was cited for no exhaust system.
  • Richard Carpenter, 65, E. Chestnut St, was cited for starting and backing vehicle.
  • Ryan Smith, 33, Fredericktown, was arrested on 2 warrants for probation violation.
  • Dana Smith, 20, Columbus Rd. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Georgia Starner, 21, Loudonville, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.

Mar. 24

  • Kourtney Love, 25, Mansfield,was arrested and charged with marijuana drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding warrant.
  • Lucas Stagg, 35, E. Ohio Ave. was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with possession of schedule one drugs.
  • Jennifer Saunders, 37, Howard,was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
  • Austin Berry, 42, Warsaw, was cited for a stop sign violation.
  • Jesse Sisson, 26, E. Ohio Ave. was arrested on warrants for probation violation and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
  • Jarred Baldwin, Maplewood Ave. Was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Tara Stamp, 29, E. Chestnut St. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
  • Raymond Highman, 53, E. Vine St. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Jacob Fulton, 36, Columbus, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Brandy Orndorff, 35, Ash St. was arrested on an outstanding warrant

  • Devon Webb, 24, Shelby, was arrested and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
  • Debra Straight, 61, Coshocton Rd. was cited for a red light violation.
