MOUNT VERNON – A Bellville man was sentenced to seven years behind bars Friday for Aggravated Vehicular Homicide in the death of 20 year old Jordan Pauley of Mount Vernon man in June of 2016. Jamie Clawson, 41, was sentenced by Knox County Common Pleas Court judge Richard Wetzel.
Clawson pleaded guilty and was driving drunk. Pauley was was operating a maroon 2005 Harley Davidson Sportster northbound on Upper Fredericktown Road. Clawson’s 2015 white GMC Sierra failed to yield a stop sign on Beckley Road. The truck struck Pauley as he was traveling through the intersection. Clawson then fled the scene of the crash.
In addition to the prison time, Judge Wetzel ordered Clawson to pay restitution for Pauley’s funeral expenses.
