After a year of board discussions, building tours and community engagement sessions, the East Knox Board of Education made it official Tuesday night with a vote: the school district will place a 37-year, $19 million levy on the November ballot that, if passed, will fund the construction of a new junior/senior high school.

The East Knox Local Schools Board of Education talked through the beginning stages of funding a new high school during Thursday’s meeting. The board came to a consensus on which architectural firm they preferred to hire for pre-bond services, although superintendent Steve Larcomb will not issue a formal recommendation for the contract until next month's meeting.
