Richard Kay Wilcoxon, age 82, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Country Court Nursing Home.

He was born on May 26, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio to the late John and Margaret (Beltz) Wilcoxon. Richard was a past member of the Central College Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, was a Cub Scout Leader, and was on the Boy Scout Round Table. He is a current member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

Richard was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife Jennie (Carper) Wilcoxon; his daughters, Pastor Cynthia (Roger Sailor) Williams, Nancy Avery; his son Mark Avery; and his grandchildren Rodney Tucker, Anna (David) Walford, and Christopher Tucker.

Friends may call on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 11am – 12 pm at the Apostolic Christian Church. A service will follow, with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, beginning at 12 pm with Bishop Duane Kramer officiating.
