LOUDONVILLE – Farmers and Savings Bank has announced it will rejoin First-Knox National Bank in Spring of 2018. Farmers Bank operates three offices in Ashland county and has grown its business in the communities it serves over the past decade. Through First-Knox, the Farmers Bank clients have better access to the benefits that more financial strength and expertise can offer their family or business.

Farmers Bank already cooperates with First Knox in areas such as investment services and Freedom Years. Under the First-Knox National Bank name, the local bankers and banking offices will continue to operate as usual and remain deeply involved in the community. The local Farmers Bank staff will receive enhanced support from First-Knox bankers in services like business cash management, retirement plans and investments, fraud protection, and special or customized loans.

“Our clients count on us to deliver top-quality services, including modern banking conveniences and specialty banking expertise. At the same time, it is more complex and challenging for small banks to afford and meet regulatory and technological requirements,” said Farmers Bank President Brian Hinkle. “Everyone can see our industry is changing dramatically. Sharing more of First-Knox’s resources is the best way to ensure our bankers can continue to deliver the service our clients and communities expect from us.”

“The community banking principles that have led to our success will not change by rejoining First-Knox – they will be better supported by it,” Hinkle said.
In Spring of 2018, the Farmers Bank Advisory Board members will join the First-Knox board and signage on the Ashland, Loudonville, and Perrysville offices will be updated. Farmers bank clients will begin using the First-Knox website, and that site design already matches their bank’s website. Farmers Bank accounts and loans will not be affected by the name change. Client log-ins, account numbers, debit cards, and phone numbers all remain the same.

Farmers Bank was a division of First-Knox National Bank until 1997 when both banks joined the Park National Family of Community Banks. The Park National organization has eleven successful community banks, each with more than 100 years of banking heritage in their headquarter counties across Ohio. First Knox National Bank is the top bank in Knox County, and has offices in Holmes, Wayne and Morrow counties. Farmers Bank clients already can use any banking office within the Park National family.
