O.K., out of curiosity. What is your favorite restaurant, place that serves the best coffee and the best pizza place in Knox County? They can be the same, or three different places.

NRM, My husband is the journalist. If he doesn't check it before I post it it is BOUND to have bad grammer, spelling, and Maybe even SOME random capital letters that are bound to drive people crazy. It's just part of my quirky style that makes people love me.

Fiesta, hands down. I wish they sold that cheese sauce stuff in jars..... or jugs...... perhaps even oil drums. For pizza, I'm kind of a Papa Johns fan. then again, the Dominos cheesesteak pizza is pretty much amazing.

coffee - SIPS

pizza - believe it or not, Jake's has the best personal pan pizze in town, imo

restaurant - Parkside (for their prime rib - their french onion soup is excellent, too)

We love LaPaloma...been going there for years. The Buena'a are awesome people and know their customers.
I don't drink coffee so can't comment in that area.
Pizza? I'm hooked on the take n bake pizzas at wal*mart. But I like Papa Johns too.

I can't add any restaurants that haven't already been mentioned they are Parkside, Allisons and Jakes. I live in Centerburg and do not use any pizza place, usually make my own. As for coffee I will drive an extra mile for a good cup of Joe. Locally Starbucks and Sips and occasionally Java Hut.

One shot with Jake's blew that out of the running...2nd visit to Allison's left me understanding why I don't go there more often...I haven't eaten enough at Parkside to form a good opinion but I've liked what I've had. Southside? so-so but not horrible.

Of the "local" places I've eaten (don't do chains) Fiesta Mexicana has my vote without a doubt. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered there (and yes, the queso blanco is like crack - you can't get enough!)

Pizza? When I lived in Mount Vernon I was always a fan of Mr. Pizza and Ron's - never made me unhappy. In the 'burg - Coaches! They have a "real" pizza oven, not a conveyor belt oven and you can taste the difference in the crust. The pepperoni curls up and it's a happy pizza feeling!

Coffee that I don't make at home? Sips without a doubt! The fru-fru drinks at Sips are always awesome even without the corporate pre-measured everything. Russ & Dan have found an incredible bean supplier and the house brew is consistently great-tasting.
