BELLVILLE -- The Clear Fork Valley School District's board of education is seeking a new member after former board president Kyle Beveridge resigned earlier this month.

The remaining four board members are expected to review and select candidates for interviewing at the July 8 meeting, according to superintendent Janice Wycoff.

Anyone interested in the position should submit a letter of interest to treasurer Bradd Stevens by 4 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Clear Fork Valley Local School District, 92 Hines Ave. Bellville, Ohio, 44813 or via email to stevensb@clearfork.k12.oh.us.

The newly appointed board member will serve through Dec. 31. He or she will have to seek election on the November ballot to serve any further time on the board.

Since Beveridge's resignation, Amy Weekley is acting as the current board president.

"It is our understanding that Mr. Beveridge resigned for personal reasons effective June 21, 2019. Everyone appreciated his energy and passion for the district and he will be missed on the Board," Wycoff said. "The Board is moving forward and is in the process of filling the open Board position."

When contacted, Beveridge didn't immediately provide comment about his resignation, saying he'd like to see the board's minutes and his letter of resignation first posted online by the school board. He said he'd speak with Richland Source next week, if those weren't posted by Tuesday.

Beveridge was elected to the board in November 2017.
