That's why I said there needs to be a good vigilante. Go watch the Punisher or Boondock Saints.

I walk my dog often at Memorial Park - too bad I missed this. I will be much more vigilant. They don't seem to do much to bullies - this must change.

ok im going to put some light on this subject i am the mother of the 16 year old girl that got attacked at memorial park........ first off she gave to police what information she could to help them we feel she was knocked out because there was a black out period we also gave them details leading up to that day of who we thought could have done this too her all though we cant prove it but at the same time she is scared to death .........she is 100% sure the name she gave is the person who did this to her but ya know they just cant go knocking of doors and arresting people with out proof. i am very upset over this situation because im telling you they meant to do damage to her and if she hadnt come too i feel some more serious things could have come from this i want all parents of all children to be aware that things like this is happening and to make your kids aware of the dangers out there mainly young daughters. my daugher is a very like young lady on honor role and a very responsible person and who would do this to her is beyound my knowledge. i guess my hole point of this is if anyone was at memorial park on oct 27 between hours of 5 and 6 pm or you have heard kids brag about what they did i would appericate it if you would forward all information to the police dep. so we can get some justice she is suffering with emotions, pain, and wondering of disbelief i pray that this dont happen to any other child like i have said if anyone knows anything please let police know

NO don't tell the police! All they'll do is slap the kid on the wrist and tell him not to do it again. Tell me! I will guarantee it won't happen again.

There are thugs in this community..and as long as they are allowed to get away with it..they will....

IF anyone knows anything...I hope they do go talk to the investigator...then I hope HE follows up...

Some of the way LE is handling some things around here...I dont have much faith in them..

tgl - if nothing else i will be EXTRA vigilant as this is my favorite area - more details as to approach and execution of the assault could lead to the psychological profile of this very disturbing event.

The attack is bad enough...but do NOT miss the time this took place...

I just remembered several years ago...my daughter was assaulted on Gambier...not far walking distance from the park...it was about 6pm when it happened...daylight too...they got her purse.

Did you watch Criminal Minds last night?????

As far as the time, wouldn't it have been dark by then? Maybe that is why my parents always made us kids come in the house before dark.
In no way am I saying that it was her fault or anything like that, but kids need to use common sense. Was she alone? Why was she hanging around at dusk/dark by that area of the park? Does she know basic self defense? You said she was parked, why didn't she just leave the park if she felt in danger?

jdial reported that they "broke 2 of her vertebra in her back" yet the story the police gave is just a few scratches. Quite a difference there. Maybe the story is not adding up to the cops.
Just a thought is all.

Sea this is from the story:

"Capt. George Hartz of the Mount Vernon Police Department said investigating officers don’t have much to go on. They saw only minor scratches on the victim, but she complained of back pain and was transported to the hospital"

she was having back pain and was transported. Hope they find who did this! Will be keeping the girl in my thoughts and prayers.

Everything happens for a reason
