Oh puhleeze - if any of these candidates support re-instating Freshwater, who has shown that he has no respect for state and federal laws, they MUST be "stopped" by not electing them.........

Freshwater ignored his contract, breached his contract, got caught breaching his contract, got called on the carpet for breaching his contract, yet some want him to get a "pass" because he's a "christian." Since when do people get a "pass" because they have one religous belief or another?

Yes, I want anyone running for School Board who agrees with Freshwater's disrespect for his contract and the laws of this nation, "stopped." By not electing them. They can take their religious "agenda" elsewhere...............it sure as heck doesn't belong in the public sector

ftm - Carter worst ever? Evidently you have not read the rankings of the Presidents. Carter keeps getting better while the Reagan rating keeps getting worse. True historians are seeing through the propaganda.

I just wanted to say that what Adam Taylor is doing on this forum is commendable. I obviously have worked with many news reporters in my 38 years at WMVO and Eagle 93.7.

Never have I known anybody with the sincere journalistic integrity as Adam. I have seen him go way beyond the call of duty to get a story right and with the facts to back it up.

The complaints I've read here remind me of a person years ago that was complaining about a Knox county sports team that wasn't being covered the way they thought it should be by the Mt. Vernon News.. I asked them if they ever saw ANYTHING in the Columbus Dispatch about their team.

Adam and I work together. That's not the reason for this post. I just really appreciate his work.

We are fortunate in our county to have as much information as we do with the newspaper...radio and Knox pages.

I think everyone on this forum would agree that AT is doing a great job! I don't see the discussion as "complaints" at all, but just a meting out of the issues through good on-line discussion.

Adam is #1 in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. Bevington:

Everyone on here, I think, would agree with you about AT's integrity - he has made all KP members aware that open, respectful discussion is welcomed; personal attacks and rumors and innuendoes without support are not - which makes KP a 1st place blogsite......

Kudos to AT - the guy has it goin' on -

I have been thinking about this today. Why is the KCCC graduation held at the Nazarene College Church on the campus? How does this happen? Every picture of every graduate as they get their diploma will have a cross in the background!

Do the powers that be realize that if any graduate has family who are of the Johovah's Witness belief system that they would be unable to attend the ceremony as that it against their basic beliefs? They cannot attend another church other than Kingdom Hall.

How is it that the school is able to ignore the religious backdrop for this graduation ceremony? This again is just one of the regular "violations" of church and state that are perpetuated by our local school district.

My question to Mr. Kirk who is a principal at KCCC is what does he think about this practice. Does he have a problem with graduation at the Nazarene Church? Has he thought about what those graduating might feel about having a cross in the background as they receive their diploma? After all, KCCC is a public, not private Christian schoo. What other options has the KCCC considered? Why not the High School auditorium? Why a Nazarene Church?

Just something that should be considered.

liberals conducting the polls Ben(any liberal is welcome to chime in). liberal media giants. in reality... Carter was a not nicey president as far as i can remember but hs since done some great things. He has accomplished a lot recently, so I beleive that is the reason for his poll numbers to climb. Reagans numbers down... maybe because he died a few years ago, and hasn;t been the most "active" person in politics before he did pass.

The same polls that would say Barry is the best president we have had. Or the best president we will have. One thought, what has he accomplished yet? Side note... the Justice Department, UNDER BARRY, thinks they may not be able to close the place in time. Also, uneploym, ent is still on the rise. No socialized heathcare yet, no education reform, no big tax cuts or breaks helping the middle class, no anything yet! Right he has not been in office long, but we are not even close with any of those things. He promised change... where is it? GREATEST PRESIDENT TO LIVE!

(Just so you know, I did not like Bush... no you need to come up with a different response)

BACK TO THE SCHOOL BOARD....

Freshwater and his cronnies should be STOPPED.

I plan to vote for the candidate(s) who supports maintaining professional ethics by all the district's teachers and administrators. And I don't want the candidate to confuse Christian ethics with professional ethics either. Professional ethics have been lacking for some teachers, in my opinion.

So a possible question might be, how would the school board promote professional ethics in a way that doesn't offend teachers who already maintain high standards, yet addresses those teachers who need to raise their ethical level a notch or two, or three, or four.....?

I have no reason to lie about what happened to my son at the Carrer Center. I am not involved in local politics and cannot vote in the Mt Vernon School Board race. It is very very interesting that Mr. Kirk's version of the incident is believed. He is a politician. Everyone was asked to rise for a prayer. My son said "I don't have to stand for this ****" and he was ordered to the office because he swore. While he was there he was asked about his religious beliefs, and then given an in-school suspension.

While I was discussing this thread with him he said how interesting it was that it was Mr. Kirk was the one offering the prayer. Maybe he was mistaken, but the fact is, there was a public prayer offered that everyone needed to participate in. My son claims it was Mr. Kirk....take it for what it's worth. Please don't censor me.

And Adam, about your comment that had it been true, people would be raising a fuss about it.....we are local business owners and for the sake of our livlihood and the many people employed by us, we cannot raise this issue publicly. I had thought about it though. I'm sure there would have been many groups interested in this issue
