anyone running for School Board or City Council who aligns themselves with the yard signs that say "PRAY" are immediately disqualified imho - religion has absolutely no place in an public sector election campaign.....

So you are promoting discrimination of a candidate based on his religious beliefs?

if the candidate's religious beliefs are aligned with supporting Freshwater teaching his own brand of religion in the public school sector, yes. They can support such actions on their own time, and not on my dime.

That's not what you originally stated.

You said.....

Sounds like blatant religious discrimination. You saying anyone who PRAYs cannot run for public office now?

The interview makes it sound like the Council Mr Thompson is on is no longer acting. This link has a link to a radio show just a few weeks ago where Mr Freshwater and Mr Hamilton are asking for money. The money is to be sent to this Council that Mr Thompson is on.

SDB - the "PRAY" signs are ALWAYS surrounded by Thompson and Kirk signs - BOTH Freshwater supporters, and at times include Fehrman signs - also a Freshwater supporter - am "assuming" those "PRAY" signs are a "prayer to heaven" that those with Freshwater agendas are elected to public office.

No thanks. This town doesn't need to become another Dover, PA - I'm certain there are plenty of "zealots" out there that have no problem pushing their own religious agenda into the public schools that willl vote for all three, "hoping" their agenda will become part of the local school system.

Not on my dime, ma'am. We have enough problems to clean up in the city and county without electing individuals with no respect for federal and state laws in this regard into office.

I also discriminate on the basis of political views. If I don't like the views of the candidate, I don't vote for him or her.

And those PRAY signs? Totally obnoxious and in-your-face. Can't people just have their faith without broadcasting it and everybody else? I don't have a "THINK" sign ... or a "DON'T PRAY" sign ... or a "RELIGION IS B.S." sign in my front yard, although I certainly have that right. I have more class than that.

oh hell - then some of the "zealots," rather than understanding you have a right to your own opinion, will claim "religious discrimination" and play martyr, just like Freshwater - enough of that crap going on in this community as it is.....

Just because someone has a pray sign, with a politicial sign, doesn't neccesarily mean their for Freshwater.

Any more then a sign that reads rape, kill, plunder mean their a Dem.

Be smart, take the time to read, listen, and study each canidate and issue before you vote. If your to lazy to do these things, then please don't vote.

Thompson has not only publicly admitted his support for Freshwater, but worked to raise money for Freshwater's lawsuit against the schools; Fehrman has publicly admitted his support, too - have "heard" Kirk is also a Freshwater supporter - maybe AT can find out for sure in an interview......

In any event we don't need elected officials who support ignoring state and federal laws to have any influence over the public school system, or for that matter, as members of Council. Now, I like Tyler, and have thought long and hard about this, BUT anyone who has disdain for the laws in this regard isn't "qualified" to hold elected office, imho, and certainly not on my dime.

According to Steve Thompson, that's not the case. As I understand it, Kirk isn't a supporter, but isn't necessarily a detractor either. I will soon find out. Stay tuned for more candidate interviews.
