Well, actually I was sort of wondering if they know what school board they're running for.

Im going with paula barone.. Met her at the Farmers market , really liked her and genuine to boot. No flashy pictures or agendas as i can see. If they let FW back in Impulling my kids,,, Enough is enough. The school is broke and now they can't replace teachers that are leaving due to the money spent on this man. He is not for the kids.. He is a flake... So I am putting my vote on Paula...

I kept losing the bottom part of Clockstopper's post about AV being in the East Knox District.

Actually, there is a small portion of the AV properties that are in the Mount Vernon school district and others are in the Danville district.

At least - a friend of mine lives out there (backside off of Danville-Amity Road) and her kids go to Mount Vernon. When I asked her, she said her house was in MV District and they weren't part of open enrollment.

Thompson and Kirk are both Freshwater supporters. They believe what he did in the classroom is OK. Everyone agrees that the Freshwater case has cost and is costing our school system hundreds of thousands of dollars and it is not over yet. Thompson and Kidd will give us more of the same and most likely cost our school system more in the long run.

Yes almost always the two signs are together in yards. Not in the same yard, but touching each other. It is like they are only a package deal.

The Freshwater matter is quickly spiraling downward into a Dover PA incident....

For those unfamiliar with the Dover, PA incident, please read the link below

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitzmiller_v._Dover_Area_School_District

Please don't allow yourselves the luxury of believing that "can't happen here." With candidates such as Thompson and Kirk vying for School Board seats, it's well on its way to fruition - And Mount Vernon simply can't handle that strain.......

This community already faced this once. In 2003 when Mr Freshwater went to the school board to ask to teach a form of creationism in the classrooms.(This is found on the mv news archives) We had a wise board that didn't allow it and kept Mt Vernon from being Dover Pa. It is now up to us to continue electing wise board members who will uphold the boards 2003 decision.

The Supreme Court has rendered it's decision regarding testimony by the School Board members, Watson and Goetzman.

maybe the school board would like to have the 190K they gave away to Hascheck right now? These are not good guardians of our money. Nice how Barone wants to attack the candidate and not his positions (Kirk eligibility). Let's dig into the Barone closet and see what we can find.

Are you on drugs?! The man may not even be LEGAL to hold the seat and you're questioning Barone? Seems to me that is very much an issue. Or maybe not in your eyes because you happen to support a certain agenda?

RB - drugs what;s your agenda? attack the messenger right out of the liberal playbook? you don't think Barone has an agenda? she and her husband are well known political operatives in this county. Stop drinking to Kool Aid dude! The Freshwater topic should only be relavant to the decision they made and what exposure they put on the finances of the system. Every American is allowed to speak their mind and have a right to a hearing or trial. The school board got bad advice(legal council) and did not think this through (financial cost & settlement). What agenda? Bad decision by qualified members of the board. Choices have ramafications.

Since when is being told to follow the law bad advice? If the school board had made a different decision, I would bet that our schools would be out even more money than they already are!
Also talk about shooting the messenger! Paula Barone was just trying to make people aware of this issue. I for one would be upset if I voted for someone and then found out that person couldn't serve. Then the school board would get to pick the replacement!!! Thats what voting is for, for the people to pick, not the school board!

You're kidding right?

YOU said:

quote:
Barone wants to attack the candidate and not his positions (Kirk eligibility).

That implies you were downplaying the fact that Kirk might not even be legal to serve, which most anyone will agree is a HUGE issue. You also implied that Barone was in the wrong for pointing out what could prove to be a catastrophe. What would his positions matter if he isn't even eligible to serve?

Also your right everyone does have a right to a trial. However that should not mean dragging it out FOREVER and draining the school districts money. Just watch, I predict they ( Hamilton, Freshwater)will try to come up with another delay tactic since this one (supreme court) got shot down!
