It is difficult for me to address what you are asking. I'm not sure if your questions are real or facetious. And I'm not certain what set of "rules" you are asking about.

Wonderin is right, though. It seems that you haven't taken the time to review all the literature out there in order to make an informed choice. There is considerable documentation well worth reading from both sides of the Freshwater issue so that you make up your mind about that. The Barone's are not a party in the lawsuit that was filed against Mr. Freshwater and they had nothing to do with the current proceedings. They were called as witnesses in the case by the school systems attorney, that's all.

In terms of the website hello just noted, I don't see anything there of serious concern. There should be something in place to "advocate on behalf of students who witness or experience wrongdoing at school but are afraid to speak up for fear of becoming the center of controversy or ridiculed by other youth". (http://protectingstudents.org/) I would like to think that would be a common theme for anyone running for the school board who's responsibility it is to protect and educate children while they are in the school's facilities.

Ms. Barone had more clout in the community, and started the ball rolling on the Freshwater mess. If, we as voters are to make sound choices, we must know all the facts.

Seldom have I read two sentences which contradict each other in such rapid secession.

While the second sentence is true and wise, the first is incorrect and based on rumor and misinformation. It's tough for some voters to "know all the facts" when those persons are willing to make judgments based on rumor and misinformation.

The "Freshwater Mess" was created (sic) when a teacher chose to disregard his signed contract and the educational laws of the State of Ohio.

If Ms. Barone "started the ball rolling" in the Freshwater matter, then what more reason would a rational and well informed person need to realize she is an excellent candidate for the Mount Vernon Board of Education. Just a our legal system must defend and uphold the laws of the Community, State, and Nation, our elected officals must follow that course.

To do otherwise is to mock the foundation of a proud and great Country.

All I am asking is for facts, not some he said, she said.

Every place I have ever worked, everthing that goes on a concerning a firing or dispensary action must be documented. The normal way for this to happen is verbal warning, written warning, verbal warning, written warning, unpaid time off, verbal warning, written warning, fired. You can not just walkup and fire someone, without some kind of documentation.

It is so funny to read these posts!!!! People state they are against church and state then have no problem with the Career Center using the Nazarene Chapel for their graduation ceremonies!!!!

There are other buildings that could be used --- such as the Memorial Building for one ---- and if there isnt -- then maybe it is time the seniors go back to their home school for graduation and not have a separate ceremony or celebration!!!!

It should be verbal warning, written warning, your fired. Period!! This whole Freshwater deal would have never happened had the School Administrator and the BOE followed proceedure. Document, and then have the "balls" to fired this guy for not following the state guidelines. I believe Linda Weston testified that she had brought his actions to their (School Adm. and BOE) attention on more than one occasion. Correct?

Correct, however, Linda Weston was part of the administration that did nothing. I personally feel that Dr. Weston and Mr. Maley did not do all they could to handle this situation early on so that the district didn't have to deal with this now.

has anyone inquired if Mrs. Barone is still an active member of the teacher's union? If she is will she resign? Mr. Kirk has been accused of a potential conflict of interest, how can Mrs. Barone negotiate teachers contracts, benefits & salaries? This question should be asked Tuesday night.

Thank you truthbknow for publishing the web site. My hope is that everyone will go back read and reread this report.

As I studied this report I am amazed how much he said - she said (fact or fiction) were in it. Going by the he said - she said, there is probably grounds for dismissal. But, in this country, we must have unemotional, cold, hard, documented facts to convict, not, he said - she said. In addition, this report was written well after the cows are gone, and now you want to shut the barn door? How many of us can say, with proof positive, where we were, who we talked with, and what we talked about, three days before 9-11?

According to the report, there are two letters in Mr. Freshwater's file, one on 8 June 2006 and 22 Jan. 2008. Both complaints were safisfactorily corrected. Or, there would have been letters of non-compliance attached to the files, if these complaints were not rectified.

I did not read, as too Mr. Freshwater's Uniion Representative being present for any of these discussions. Was Mr. Freshwater's, Union Rights, denied, for lack of Uniion Representation? Dr. Watson statement "Mr. Freshwater had alot of influnence and it caused her great concern". If a teacher doesn't teach (influnence), what good are they? It must not have been too big of a concern to Dr. Watson, or proper action would have taken a long time ago.

Concerning the student questionnaire, frankly, at that age I was far more concerned about how far I could see down a blouse or up a skirt, then I was evolution or creationsism, I bet this hold true today.

In this case, it appears, the school board blew it. There is not enough proper documentation, docmentation, docmentation to support a firing.

Which ever way the Freshwater confusing mess is settled, it will be many, many years before another school bond is passed.
